Finding Each Other Once Again

Two hearts broken All the questions Two stubborn souls Standing out in the cold
Forgetting their first meeting All that's left is the arguing Scared to face each other Scared to be alone together
The ties that bind Their tears need to be wiped Mending the hurts Their thoughts hide in the dirt
Society plays a role The frustration, the turmoil The desire to live on Is almost gone
The tight budgets Everyone frets The communication Needs to be open
The fantasy of a perfect world Blown away in the wind, it whirls The dreams, shattered The verbal anger
Why must it be this way? The same question, everyday Routines, set in The daily plans
Seems life gets harder The distance between two, gets farther apart What will become of this? What have they missed?
What will bring them closer? Who will take the first step, him or her? Both have different opinions Both want to be heard, again and again
Two precious gems in a shell Two people calling out for help The need to be, again, two as one This needs to be won
